Role Overview:

The Regional Application Engineer serves as a vital technical resource, providing exceptional hands-on support and industry-specific expertise to end-user clients across various sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a robust engineering background, complemented by extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes in industries such as Oil & Gas, Food Production, Mining, and more. This role focuses on delivering support for SKF's range of products, including bearings and seals, primarily within the Texas region and neighboring areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture brand loyalty for SKF products and services through strategic support initiatives and relationship building with key clients and distributors.

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with end-users and authorized distributors to enhance service delivery.

  • Assist with product installation and troubleshoot application issues to ensure optimal performance.

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of customer manufacturing processes to provide consultative support tailored to client needs.

  • Conduct training sessions for maintenance teams and facilitate local technical seminars to enhance product understanding.

  • Collaborate with Technical Sales Managers to devise effective sales strategies and support growth initiatives.

  • Introduce new product offerings to the client base, ensuring awareness and understanding of innovations.

  • Perform on-site inspections and failure analyses to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Engage in projects aimed at delivering cost savings for key clients and distributors.

  • Provide technical support during joint calls with SKF Authorized Distributor partners.

  • Offer recommendations on bearings and seals during application reviews to optimize client operations.

  • Support the full spectrum of SKF products and services, including CR, PEER, Kaydon, and Cooper.

  • This role requires approximately 75% travel to support clients across Texas and surrounding regions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is highly preferred.

  • Over 10 years of experience in application engineering, technical project management, or maintenance engineering.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical proficiency.

  • Extensive knowledge of process industries and operational practices.

  • Ability to effectively manage time, resources, and budgets to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Proficient in basic PC software and CRM systems.

  • Demonstrated history of proactive improvement initiatives within previous roles.

  • Strategic thinking capabilities to drive business growth.

  • Experience with condition monitoring and maintenance strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • This position will primarily be home-based, with significant time spent at client locations for service engagements.
