Job Title: Staff/Sr. Staff Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff/Sr. Staff Systems Engineer to join our team at SciTec, a dynamic small business delivering advanced sensor data processing technologies and scientific instrumentation capabilities in support of National Security and Defense.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing systems engineering processes aligned with IEEE 15288, performing requirements derivation, decomposition, and allocation, and coordinating between program managers, software developers, and other members of the systems engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and model systems architectures for remote sensor data processing systems
  • Perform systems engineering processes aligned with IEEE 15288
  • Coordinate between program managers, software developers, and other members of the systems engineering team
  • Derive, decompose, and allocate requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Minimum of two years professional experience in Systems Engineering
  • Domain experience with remote sensing systems or software architecture
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills
  • Professional experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields
  • Additional professional experience in systems engineering beyond five years
  • Familiarity with SysML or the Cameo/MagicDraw family
  • Ability to read computer code (Python, C++, etc)
  • Experience with Agile software development methods
  • Demonstrated experience in program management and project leadership
  • Graduate degrees or coursework in Systems Engineering or related fields
  • An active SECRET DoD security clearance or higher

The pay range for this position is $96,000 - $141,000/year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
