This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled Research Scientist Staff to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Advanced Programs and Exploitation (APEX) team, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and enhancing space-based radar processing and tracking software.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, refine, and develop radar processing algorithms to support ongoing programs and internal research and development efforts.
- Develop models and detailed simulations to predict and assess system performance, ensuring optimal results.
- Lead radar algorithm design, including software specification definition, to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Perform mode development for AMTI, GMTI, SAR, and HRR, leveraging your expertise in radar systems and algorithms.
- Interface with radar system suppliers to discuss system capabilities and conduct test and analysis, ensuring seamless collaboration.
- Work closely with research scientists, FPGA engineers, and software engineers to develop, test, and deliver prototype and fully capable systems.
- Possibly work on AI/ML algorithm applications, staying at the forefront of emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in MatLab and another programming language (i.e., C++, Python) to drive software development and innovation.
- Experience with radar systems and algorithms, with a strong understanding of radar modes, mode development/analysis, and data collection methodologies.
- Experience with radar modes, mode development/analysis, and data collection methodologies to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Applied mathematics or algorithm development experience to develop and refine radar processing algorithms.
- Strong experience in software design and development, with a focus on radar systems and algorithms.
- Knowledge of monostatic, bistatic, and multistatic radar processing schemes to drive system performance and efficiency.
- Proficiency in C++ &/or Python to drive software development and innovation.
- Experience with active electronically scanned array (AESA) systems to drive system performance and efficiency.
- Familiarity with tracking &/or signal processing algorithms to drive system performance and efficiency.
- Experience with a machine learning pipelines for radar systems to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Experience with software version control such as GIT to drive collaboration and innovation.
- Linux OS background/Experience developing in a Linux environment to drive software development and innovation.
This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
