Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Command and Data Handling Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit, you will play a critical role in the development of spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Command and Data Handling subsystem team on Civil Space and National Defense bus programs, ensuring delivery of a C&D subsystem that meets program technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Collaborate with the CDH team on technical definition, implementation, and verification, establishing solid working relationships with system engineering, integration and test, and peers from other spacecraft subsystems.
  • Develop and maintain the subsystem architecture and interfaces, generating verification and validation plans, and working with the Integration and Test team to ensure the subsystem meets requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to peers, customers, and management, maintaining a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company, interacting appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, plus 5 or more years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in electronics or avionics subsystem design or test, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of requirements definition, decomposition, and flow-down, circuit design, interface definition, hardware specifications, interface control, analyses, and verification.
  • Experience developing and delivering space-qualified hardware.
  • Solid communication and presentation skills, effective in a multidisciplinary teamwork environment.
