Job Overview

Binary Defense is in search of a skilled Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer. The primary duties encompass the design, implementation, configuration, and oversight of distinct SIEM systems for our clientele, alongside the development of security use cases and alert setups. Experience with Exabeam is advantageous.

Cybersecurity Solutions Engineers collaborate closely with clients and our Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts to ensure that systems and alerts are configured correctly and comprehended thoroughly for precise alert escalation. Candidates must exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, possess extensive knowledge in information security, and have a broad technical foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, managing, and sustaining SIEM systems for clients and internal operations.
  • Assessing applications within client environments and prioritizing essential data sources based on their security significance and licensing implications.
  • Advising on the types of logs/events to gather from devices that will be most beneficial for security objectives.
  • Identifying optimal methods for log collection and assisting clients in forwarding security logs to designated SIEM platforms.
  • Engaging in weekly project meetings, both internally and with clients.
  • Working closely with the Project Coordinator to ensure project timelines are met and critical tasks are executed promptly.
  • Participating in a weekly rotating on-call schedule.
  • Executing other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience in managing, configuring, and deploying SIEM solutions in a professional setting. Familiarity with Exabeam is a plus.
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge across various domains of information security and their best practices. Current awareness of threats and detection methods is ideal.
  • Solid foundation in IT knowledge and familiarity with Windows system administration and various networking technologies.
  • Experience with Query Languages, preferably KQL.
  • Extensive experience with PowerShell and other scripting languages.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
