LEEP Dual Language Academy Charter School, established as a pioneering institution in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, is dedicated to fostering bilingualism and academic excellence through a structured Spanish language immersion program. Key Responsibilities of the Lead Teacher

  • Implement the educational mission of LEEP Dual Language Academy.
  • Uphold the belief that every student can achieve high academic standards, providing unwavering support tailored to individual needs.
  • Engage in self-reflection and instructional evaluation to meet academic objectives.
  • Dedicate time to professional development, including coaching, collaborative planning, and educational workshops.
  • Design and assess student learning plans based on both long-term and short-term educational goals.
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instructional strategies and differentiate learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to exchange effective teaching practices and ensure mastery of educational standards.
  • Maintain strong communication with families through regular updates and conferences.
  • Select and implement effective teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and focus.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance collaborative efforts.
  • Administer and evaluate all required student assessments.
  • Adhere to regular attendance and punctuality requirements.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
  • Availability for occasional weekend and evening commitments may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish is essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid New York State teaching certification or enrollment in a certification program.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a lead teacher in an urban educational setting.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving high academic outcomes and a commitment to educational accountability.
  • Alignment with LEEP's core educational values and philosophy.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the broader community.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000 annually.
