Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated full-time Research Audiologist to assist in the research initiatives led by esteemed professionals focused on NIH-funded projects examining adult cochlear implant outcomes.

The Research Audiologist will play a crucial role in collaborating with Principal Investigators, overseeing structured protocol development, participant recruitment, and testing. Responsibilities will include:

  • Training research assistants and managing participant data, including maintaining a comprehensive database.
  • Contributing to the writing of abstracts and manuscripts related to ongoing research.
  • Providing support in the preparation of grant proposals.

While experience with cochlear implants and human participant testing is preferred, it is not mandatory. A background in Hearing and Speech Sciences, Audiology, Psychology, Linguistics, or related fields is desirable. Candidates with an AuD, PhD, or AuD/PhD degrees are encouraged to apply.

Completion of CITI human subjects and GCP training will be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the principal investigator and laboratory staff on various research projects.
  • Assist in the dissemination of research findings and contribute to manuscript development.
  • Stay updated on advancements in relevant research areas through professional development activities.
  • Conduct data entry, management, and preliminary data analyses.
  • Assist in the calibration of research equipment.
  • Supervise laboratory students and conduct comprehensive audiometric evaluations.
  • Implement psychoacoustic experiments and objective assessments of auditory function.
  • Ensure the organization and protection of source data in compliance with IRB standards.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
