We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Audiologist to join our team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals and improve their quality of life.
About the RoleThe Pediatric Audiologists at Vanderbilt University Medical Center have consistently reported that their team members and patients are the best parts of their job. This team is composed of dedicated professionals excited to collaborate on even the most challenging cases.
As a Pediatric Audiologist, you will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and counseling pediatric patients with hearing and vestibular disorders to improve communication function and postural stability under occasional guidance. You will initiate collaboration with the healthcare team to meet patient care, outcomes, and system improvement objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluation and Treatment: Completes full diagnostic hearing assessments using the appropriate testing method and equipment for the patient type, diagnosis, and reason for referral. Formulates and/or implements a treatment plan to address deficits and patient/family areas of concern.
- Documentation and Communication: Completes documentation in a timely manner. Provides education/consultation to patient, family, healthcare team, and community.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Enhances and impacts our knowledge of the nature of communicative and related disorders. Participates in work at existing or new satellite clinic locations.
- Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) from an accredited program, preferred
- Valid TN state license as an audiologist or ability to obtain one prior to start date
- Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Prior experience working with pediatric patients, preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of relative experience, preferred
