About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Scientist to join our North America Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) R&D team at Philips. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving research and innovation in MRI technology, collaborating with medical doctors and physicists to evaluate new medical applications for MRI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Development: Guide, conduct, and support research and advanced clinical applications for the MRI product line at luminary sites in North America, managing important customer research relations and clinical research.
  • Technical Expertise: Be the expert MRI specialist on an assigned technical or clinical application area, building a network in the scientific community and reporting and advising on new insights and technologies within the Business Unit MR.
  • Clinical Co-Creation: Drive clinical co-creation projects at designated sites to generate transfers of ideas, research prototypes, solutions, and IP for product development and generate evidence to support claims through scientific publications.
  • Hands-on Experience: Be hands-on, independently running the Philips MR scanners and performing volunteer and patient scanning, guiding users on Philips scanner capabilities and development tools.
  • Visibility and Representation: Increase visibility of Philips MR program through lectures and presentations at scientific or professional international conferences, as well as involvement in professional organizations.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Assist in clinical evaluation reports, white papers, and materials to support new product introductions.
  • Training and Support: Support dedicated training courses on research tools and clinical capabilities.
  • Sales Support: Provide guidance in the sales process to luminary customers through broad MR and clinical expertise.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Partner with multiple teams in the market and the global Business Unit, including Global clinical science, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, Legal, Sales, and Global leaders across the company.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of a Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or other related disciplines.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience post-PhD focused on MR Physics and System Programming, with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) highly desired.
  • Technical Proficiency: Technical proficiency in MRI and clinical imaging, with detailed experience in development and advanced applications in a clinical setting for MR Imaging systems.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication, teaching, and presentation skills, with the ability to conduct research and set up research studies.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: An independent problem solver, with strong analytical and experimental skills.
  • Customer Interaction: Proven experience interacting with customers, market colleagues, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Physical and Cognitive Abilities: Ability to successfully perform the minimum Physical, Cognitive, and Environmental job requirements for this position.
