Position Summary

The Host/Hostess serves as the initial and final interaction point for guests, responsible for warmly welcoming, seating, and bidding farewell to patrons while ensuring a smooth dining experience. This role includes managing reservations via phone, responding to messages, and returning calls with clarity and precision.

It is essential for the Host/Hostess to maintain a friendly demeanor, exhibit professionalism, and be well-groomed at all times. They should be knowledgeable about regular guests, addressing them by name, recalling their preferred seating arrangements, and accommodating any specific requests. Awareness of reservations for each service period, including any VIP guests, is crucial. The Host/Hostess will report directly to the Maître d'Hotel and General Manager.

Adherence to company safety and security protocols is mandatory; this includes reporting incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management, as well as completing required safety training and certifications. The Host/Hostess must ensure that their appearance is clean and professional, maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information, and safeguard company assets. They should greet and acknowledge all guests in line with company standards, communicate effectively using professional language, and answer phones with appropriate etiquette. Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, supporting team objectives, and responding to employee concerns are vital aspects of this role. The Host/Hostess must also ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards.

Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Additional reasonable duties may be assigned by Supervisors.
