SALARY: $28.00 per hour, based on experience

With a workforce exceeding 250 individuals, we encompass a wide range of services from Electric Motor Repair and Electrical Distribution to Construction, Industrial Automation, Landfill Management, Recycling, and Waste & Disposal.

Founded in 1913, Electric Motor Shop stands as a leading electrical contractor, motor repair facility, and electrical supply wholesale distributor. Our advanced repair center provides comprehensive motor and pump repair services, including rewinding, with 24-hour service availability. Our supply division boasts one of the largest inventory warehouses in Central California, and our licensed contracting division is equipped to handle industrial projects of all sizes, offering custom panel design, installation, PLC programming, AC drives, and transformer installations.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Payroll Specialist is accountable for the complete payroll process. This role involves ensuring the precise and timely execution of payroll for multiple companies, managing financial data, and participating in daily payroll data entry tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee weekly payroll processing, ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Input, audit, and verify time card data, collaborating with supervisors to rectify any discrepancies.
  • Establish, manage, and monitor garnishment orders (e.g., child support, levies).
  • Address employee inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Update and maintain employee information within the payroll system.
  • Process advance payments, terminations, and other non-standard payroll requests.
  • Generate accurate month-end payroll reports.
  • Distribute weekly payroll checks to designated managers.
  • Assist with employee benefits open enrollment.
  • Create and prepare weekly journal entries and payroll reports.
  • Facilitate the transmission of weekly 401k contributions.
  • Organize and file HR and payroll documentation.
  • Maintain the EMS attendance calendar on a daily basis.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding sensitive payroll information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The qualifications outlined below are representative of the skills and experience necessary for this role:

  • High school diploma or GED; college education is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles, human resources, and payroll practices.
  • Experience with payroll and accounting software, preferably Isolved.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
