ROLE SUMMARY:

The Payroll Specialist is tasked with overseeing all facets of payroll operations. This role ensures the precise and timely processing and documentation of payroll and financial data across multiple companies, while also engaging in daily payroll data entry tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer weekly payroll, ensuring all transactions are executed accurately and punctually.
  • Input, audit, and verify time card data, collaborating with supervisors to rectify discrepancies.
  • Manage garnishment orders, including child support and levies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Update employee information in the payroll system as necessary.
  • Process advance payments, terminations, and other non-standard payroll transactions.
  • Generate accurate month-end payroll reports.
  • Distribute payroll checks to the relevant managers.
  • Assist in the open enrollment process for employee benefits.
  • Create and prepare weekly journal entries and payroll spreadsheets.
  • Facilitate the transmission of weekly 401k contributions.
  • Organize and file HR and payroll documentation.
  • Maintain the EMS attendance calendar on a daily basis.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding sensitive payroll information.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

The qualifications outlined below are essential for fulfilling the role:

  • High school diploma or GED; college education is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles, human resources, and payroll procedures.
  • Experience with payroll and accounting software, preferably Isolved.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
