Position Summary:
The Finance Manager will oversee the daily and annual financial operations of the organization. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Experience in not-for-profit financial management is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage financial policies and procedures, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of all financial activities, including budgeting and financial statements.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team and Board of Directors on a regular basis.
  • Conduct workshops for the Board on the annual budgeting process.
  • Monitor daily financial transactions and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Generate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare tax-related documents and assist auditors in compiling necessary information for financial statements and tax returns.
  • Serve as the primary contact for banks, creditors, and external auditors.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts.
  • Manage petty cash and maintain records of all organizational assets.
  • Facilitate cash transfers between accounts to maintain proper balances.
  • Record all incoming payments and maintain detailed membership records.
  • Administer employee personnel records and benefits.
  • Ensure accurate payroll and personnel record maintenance.
  • Assist with event registrations and maintain detailed records of event participants and sponsorships.
  • Oversee IT services and collaborate with contractors on technology upgrades.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and attend organizational events as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Experience in not-for-profit accounting is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve organizational goals.
  • High level of confidentiality and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks; experience with HubSpot is advantageous.

Note: The Finance Manager will operate under the general guidance of the executive leadership and is expected to fulfill responsibilities with minimal supervision. The duties outlined are not exhaustive and may be adjusted as necessary for the effective operation of the organization.
