Director of Operations Job Description

Leap Brands is seeking a seasoned Director of Operations to lead the operations of multiple locations. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a strong background in multi-unit operation management within the restaurant industry.

As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for leading the operations of multiple locations, with full P&L oversight. You will set the standards, culture, and expectations for the other leaders in our company. Our client is a results-driven company that understands the success is driven from their locations and this all starts with the staff. As the Director of Operations, you must know how to train, motivate, and be hands-on with the team members when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Sales and Customer Loyalty: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and increase customer loyalty.
  • Performance Management: Use performance management tools, including development plans, to provide guidance and feedback to team members.
  • Leadership Development: Interview, hire, develop, and manage all-star unit-level management staff.
  • Work Environment and Morale: Build a strong work environment and morale.
  • P&L Responsibilities: Oversee all General Managers; responsible for GM development and success.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Set clear expectations for GMs, their authority, and autonomy, and support them in developing their people and guest experience in the restaurant.
  • Succession Planning: Develop leadership bench at restaurant levels, including Assistant General Managers and hourly managers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
  • Multi-Unit Management Experience: 5+ years of experience in multi-unit management in a full-service chain organization.
  • P&L Experience: 10+ years of P&L experience
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated advanced-level ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate decisions while motivating assigned staff.
  • Project Management: Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team Environment: Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Management Experience: Prior management experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Back of House Systems, Point of Sale Systems, Restaurant Operating Systems, and the Internet.
  • Budgetary Concepts: Advanced understanding of budgetary concepts and procedures.
  • Performance Review Process: Advanced understanding of performance review process.
