Position: Cybersecurity Technical Analyst

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Overview:

We are in search of a Cybersecurity Technical Analyst to:
  • Support enterprise-level hybrid cloud data center operations for the US Marine Corps (USMC)
  • Facilitate mission-critical operations for USMC global customers
Core Duties:

As a Cybersecurity Technical Analyst, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to oversee all facets of cybersecurity support within the hybrid-cloud enterprise hosting environment. Your role will encompass conducting vulnerability assessments, performing technical analyses, monitoring compliance status, managing accreditation packages, and assisting in the development of plans of action and milestones (POA&M) for identified security vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will aid in the creation of Authority to Operate (ATO) packages for the data center and engage in ongoing monitoring efforts to support data center operations. You will provide support to two Information System Security Managers (ISSM) and an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).

Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Delivering technical support for authorization and accreditation processes
  • Executing vulnerability management assessments utilizing ACAS (Tenable Nessus) and other relevant tools, including the development of mitigation strategies and documentation for POA&M
  • Collaborating with operational teams to devise solutions for vulnerability remediation and preparing necessary cybersecurity documentation for operational approval
  • Preparing systems for review and conducting independent verification and validation assessments
  • Formulating POA&M for identified vulnerabilities and developing strategies for remediation, mitigation, and criticality downgrades
  • Assisting in accreditation activities for both installed and in-development infrastructure, as well as engineering change proposals, including the creation of supporting documentation and compliance requirements
  • Coordinating with independent verification and validation teams and program office ISSM cybersecurity support to facilitate overall cybersecurity program activities
  • Creating, maintaining, and supporting accreditation package requirements, including the use of the USMC's accreditation tool - MCCAST
  • Developing automation scripts and supporting infrastructure for continuous monitoring initiatives
Qualifications

Required Experience/Education:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; consideration will also be given to candidates with a high school diploma and 9 years of relevant experience
  • IAT II Certification
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Possession of a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Proven understanding and application of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA STIG/Security framework implementation; experience with cloud implementations is preferred
  • Expertise in conducting vulnerability management and reporting using Tenable ACAS
  • Familiarity with IAVM/IAVA management and reporting
  • Solid understanding of DoD cybersecurity infrastructure tools, including PKI, data encryption, and McAfee HBSS/ePO
  • Strong technical foundation with system administration skills to support independent assessments of cybersecurity risks and mitigation measures across enterprise data center systems, including virtualization, networking, storage (SAN, NAS), Windows, Linux, Oracle, SQL databases, and SharePoint solutions
  • Experience operating within an Enterprise ITSM solution and queue operations (BMC Remedy preferred)
  • Experience maintaining RMF-based accreditation packages
  • Familiarity with certification and accreditation tools/GRC, such as MCCAST (built on RSA Archer preferred) or eMASS
  • Experience configuring data center monitoring and management solutions
  • Experience utilizing log management and SIEM solutions to support cybersecurity programs
  • Fundamental understanding of ITSM/ITIL processes (ITIL training or certification preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACAS and RMF certification
  • Azure or AWS Cloud Certification or completed training

Target Salary Range:

$80,000 - $128,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this position based on experience and other relevant factors.
