Job Overview
The Cybersecurity Governance Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the effectiveness of the core Information Security Program, focusing on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and sustain documentation related to information security, including policies, frameworks, standards, and procedures.
  • Act as the primary liaison for compliance-related tasks, coordinating internal and external audits, and reviewing internal policies.

  • Serve as a crucial resource for staff and leadership regarding the implementation and interpretation of information security policies.

  • Assist with key functions of the Information Security program, including Incident Response and Vulnerability Management, as needed.

  • Creating and enforcing comprehensive information security documentation.
  • Advising leadership on effective risk management strategies.
  • Executing high-quality solutions that align with regulations and established frameworks, while leading small to medium-scale projects.
Governance and Compliance:
  • Develop a data security risk reporting framework aligned with industry standards.
  • Design and document controls to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Facilitate the remediation of control gaps and escalate critical issues to leadership.
  • Manage an exception review process, ensuring proper documentation and periodic reviews.
  • Prepare for examinations by security assessors and collaborate with auditors to meet requests promptly.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the information security program through metrics analysis.
Information Security Risk Assessment:
  • Identify and document information security risks and controls.
  • Conduct security risk assessments to pinpoint vulnerabilities.
  • Recommend controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Security Policy Management and Training:
  • Support workforce security initiatives, including awareness and training programs.
  • Facilitate data collection for investigations of security incidents.
  • Research and contribute to the development of information security policies.
  • Collaborate with various organizational participants to implement security policies.
Third-party Supplier Risk Management:
  • Conduct risk assessments of third-party suppliers to manage supply chain risks.
  • Present assessment results to stakeholders and project sponsors.
  • Review supplier contracts for information security compliance.
  • Maintain an inventory of suppliers and associated risks for ongoing management.
Qualifications :
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a relevant field, with equivalent experience considered.
  • Preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in risk assessments and compliance with regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-scale projects.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a relevant setting, addressing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced certifications in cybersecurity and risk management are preferred.
