Position Overview

As a Cybersecurity Analyst within the Department of Energy, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance in the realm of cyber security, particularly in relation to operational technologies associated with nuclear weapons systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a principal authority on cyber security, offering technical advice and support to various stakeholders.
  • Oversee and evaluate the cyber and technical security programs of the Management and Operations (M&O) Contractor to ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Conduct formal assessments of cyber and technical security, delivering periodic evaluations based on Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF) criteria.
  • Review and validate the M&O Contractor's budget proposals, ensuring justifications for manpower, equipment, and facilities are sound.
  • Lead and support initiatives in enterprise architecture to facilitate the development and implementation of innovative technologies, creating a comprehensive technology roadmap.
  • Coordinate with specialists across various functional areas to address issues related to connectivity, compatibility, reliability, and security.
Meetings and Collaboration

Participate in and lead discussions with local, NNSA, and DOE-wide stakeholders to tackle complex technical challenges, monitor project statuses, and assess the completion of work. This includes documenting findings, notifying contractors of deficiencies, and reviewing corrective actions.

Technical Guidance

Provide direction and interpretation of technical policies and guidance to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate IT-related experience that reflects proficiency in the following competencies:

  • Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in work and conscientiousness in addressing details.
  • Customer Service: Ability to assess client needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Oral Communication: Skill in conveying information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Problem Solving: Capability to identify issues and develop sound recommendations.

Specialized experience should include at least one year of relevant work in areas such as enterprise architecture, vulnerability assessments, and compliance evaluations.
