POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Cashier plays a crucial role in managing cash transactions from customers and staff for goods and services, ensuring accurate record-keeping of all amounts received. This position often serves as the final point of contact for customers at the dealership, necessitating a friendly and professional demeanor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in customer service.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and office equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize the dealership's computer system to calculate customer bills.
  • Process cash, checks, and credit card payments, accurately recording transactions on repair orders or counter tickets.
  • Provide accurate change and issue receipts, ensuring customer signatures on repair orders at the time of payment.
  • Verify and reconcile totals of counter tickets and repair orders against all forms of payment at the end of each shift.
  • Direct customers with further inquiries to the appropriate service advisor or personnel.
  • Address customer complaints with professionalism and refer them to the relevant individual for further assistance.
  • Process cash refunds for approved merchandise returns accurately.
  • Maintain service files in a timely manner.
  • Perform receptionist duties as necessary.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any incidents to a manager or supervisor immediately.

  • Ability to engage positively with customers, maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Capable of discussing services knowledgeably and openly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and data entry skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENTS, and WORK SCHEDULE:

Proficiency in operating office equipment such as personal computers, copy machines, and telephone systems is essential. The role requires routine bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching. Employees must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

WORK LOCATION:

This position may involve travel to various office locations or attendance at off-site meetings as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and holidays.

Salary / Pay: $16.00 per hour
