Job Overview

Parker Products, Inc. is in search of a dedicated R&D Food Scientist who possesses a deep enthusiasm for food technology and is driven by innovative problem-solving and experimental methodologies.

Position Overview

As a key member of our R&D team, you will spearhead the execution and market introduction of both novel and existing food products, ensuring they align with sensory appeal, functional performance, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

Your responsibilities will encompass providing essential support, which may involve customer engagement, prototype development, and leading product training sessions and presentations for both internal teams and clients.

Your primary focus will be on transforming product concepts into tangible outcomes by overseeing, directing, and managing product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project initiatives, identify, manage, and implement ingredient selections, formulations, and process enhancements for product commercialization, improvements, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee the functionality of ingredients within specified processing parameters.
  • Direct on-site testing, trials, and initial production runs by preparing comprehensive documentation that outlines project execution, developing project plans, organizing project teams, and coordinating resources to meet objectives, while monitoring progress and compiling results.
  • Design and conduct experiments, analyze findings, and provide informed technical recommendations.
  • Recognize and communicate potential technical and business risks, constraints, and perspectives related to the product development lifecycle and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality Assurance to address ingredient, formulation, and process challenges, managing product specifications and suggesting necessary modifications.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and adhere to all company and client Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as well as relevant policies related to job responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in Research and Development and Food Science.
  • Background in leading the development of new liquid products through testing and commercialization is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in formulation and raw materials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the company and project team professionally.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.

Educational Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Food Engineering, or Food Nutrition.
