The Role:

This position is responsible for supporting our safety operations and quality control measures. The successful candidate will work closely with management to ensure compliant implementation of project plans and specifications. This role will involve frequent coordination with management, as well as daily inventory tracking for janitorial supplies and safety supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Inspect packaging lines during each shift to verify production quality checks, packaging integrity, and label accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify and record quality checks for every shop order ran during the course of a shift.
  • Quality Holds: Identify, assist, address, and document quality holds.
  • Hold Area Management: Maintain the Hold Area and ensure hold product is accurately documented in the database, following proper procedure.
  • Deviation Review: Review and monitor all deviations to aid in corrective action and decision-making.
  • Sample Management: Maintain retained samples storage area in an orderly fashion, locate and pull samples as needed, and rotate out old stock.
  • Environmental Sampling: Perform environmental sampling and work closely with the QA supervisor and 3rd party lab.
  • Data Analysis: Trend analytical data and perform root cause analysis.
  • Release Decisions: Review daily paperwork for all lines to make release decisions.
  • Quality Improvement: Active involvement in quality improvement processes and ability to enforce policies and procedures in the facility.
  • Equipment Calibration: Perform equipment calibrations on a daily and weekly basis, verifying readings and recording results.
  • Operational Inspection: Conduct daily operational inspections of GMPs and rework process on the production floor to ensure a quality and safe working environment.
  • Monthly Audits: Assist the QA supervisor in performing monthly audits and other tasks as assigned.
  • Inventory Management: Purchase material and track inventory of all safety and janitorial supplies with working knowledge of EAM.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Oversee processes and systems for reporting, monitoring, and correcting operational deficiencies pertaining to food safety and quality.
  • Team Support: Provide support to QA technicians and motivate the team to achieve quality goals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years in the food industry or an Associate's degree with 5+ years of experience in the food industry.
  • Certifications: HACCP certification, PCQI (preventative controls qualified individual), and solid knowledge of SQF.
  • Skills: Critical thinking/problem-solving, deadline-oriented, analytical skills, attention to detail, good communication skills, promoting process improvement, leadership, and organizational skills, and computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft AX.

Work Schedule:

This is a 3rd shift position, working Monday through Friday, 10:00pm to 6:30am.
