Job Summary

The Vice President of Business Development and Partnerships is a critical leadership role responsible for driving FHI 360's business development and partnering strategy. This executive will oversee global business development efforts, collaborating with the public and private sectors to achieve resource mobilization goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will direct and oversee teams responsible for market and competitor analyses, business opportunity identification and prioritization, proposal development, and corporate and foundations relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth and revenue for FHI 360.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging expertise in market analysis, capture management, and proposal development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders, both internally and externally, to drive strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of business development plans, ensuring alignment with FHI 360's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Manage and supervise a global team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of business development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of success in business development and partnering, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in international development.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to direct and oversee cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders.
  • Deep understanding of global development trends and funder landscapes, with the ability to analyze market dynamics and competitor strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on results and delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recognized authority in business development within the international development sector.
  • Successful experience in building innovative partnerships with corporate and foundation actors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing change leading to increased revenue and improved win rates.
Travel

Approximately 20-30% travel, both domestic and international, to engage with key stakeholders, oversee business development activities, and support global teams.

Typical Physical Demands

Typical office environment. Constantly uses a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Technology

Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.

The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.

Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

US Based Hiring Salary Range: $205,000 - $270,000

International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
