Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Deputy Project Manager / Custodial Supervisor to oversee our operations supporting a federal agency.

Role Summary:

The Deputy Project Manager / Custodial Supervisor will guide a team of professionals in delivering maintenance services, including both scheduled and emergency repairs. This role encompasses the management of custodial services and the supervision of the custodial workforce.

As the deputy leader of the project and custodial operations, you will be responsible for client relations, financial oversight, human resources management, and continuous operational improvement.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Project Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities: You will supervise various engineering and custodial staff, as well as manage subcontractors for core services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction, ensuring successful contract execution and serving as the on-site authority in the Project Manager's absence.
  • Manage custodial operations, ensuring compliance with service requirements and contract deliverables.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with service standards and company policies.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and ensure the contract meets its financial objectives.
  • Oversee financial operations, including purchase orders and invoicing.
  • Lead a team of custodial and technical staff, ensuring a well-trained and disciplined workforce.
  • Manage daily operations, including maintenance and renovations.
  • Evaluate project efficiency and control operational costs.
  • Provide administrative and technical guidance to staff.
  • Coordinate procurement of supplies and maintain inventory control.
  • Maintain communication with architects and contractors involved in major projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in facilities management.
  • At least three years of experience in managing custodial services for commercial buildings.
  • Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changing requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with various organizational levels.
  • Proficient in planning and coordinating facilities activities.
  • Experience with labor unions and service contracts.
  • Knowledge of custodial services and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate. Occasionally required to stand and walk, with the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
