Senior Oracle EBS Developer

Position Overview

The primary focus of this position is to architect and configure Oracle EBS application solutions to meet diverse business requirements. This individual will also offer programming support for new implementations and enhance existing systems as necessary. The Senior Oracle EBS Developer will utilize best practice methodologies and tools to facilitate the planning, execution, and management of eBusiness Suite projects and support. Close collaboration with departmental teams and clients is essential to ensure that deliverables align with project scope and budget, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction leading to lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive functional and technical specifications for necessary EBS software modifications and implement these changes.
  • Design and execute software testing plans, collaborating with users to create and run test cases for various business processes utilizing EBS applications.
  • Oversee post-implementation support, including troubleshooting application issues, assisting users with production challenges, and providing additional training as required.
  • Engage in development tasks that may involve data conversions and integration with third-party software solutions.
  • Conduct data analysis and generate ad-hoc queries and reports as needed.
  • Coordinate system maintenance activities related to eBusiness Suite, including regular job scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts and business users to deliver detailed system insights.
  • Proactively identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Assess feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definitions, requirements, and proposed solutions.
  • Guide development teams through the software development lifecycle to ensure project success within defined scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the software development process.
  • Facilitate the preparation and installation of solutions by determining system specifications and programming standards.
  • Support application fixes through System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-implementation phases.
  • Ensure that solutions are completed and documented according to established standards.
  • Manage large-scale project design and solution development efforts.
  • Identify and escalate critical issues as necessary.
  • Spot potential enhancements and proactive support opportunities to improve customer experience.
  • Participate in regular meetings with both internal teams and clients.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with technical and functional team members.
  • Work with project teams to identify resolutions to issues as they arise.
  • Maintain professionalism in all communications with clients.
  • Attend weekly status meetings and provide project updates.
  • Timely submission of weekly timesheets in the designated tracking system.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Additional Duties

  • Implement eBusiness Suite projects and functionalities.
  • Engage with clients to clarify specific project requirements.
  • Provide functional and technical specifications and collaborate with project teams for eBusiness Suite development.
  • Assist with internal eBusiness Suite initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain project scope and escalate issues internally when necessary.
  • Recommend solutions based on project needs as they arise.
  • Document project deliverables following Centrilogic's project methodology.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all project outputs in a consistent format.
  • Efficiently identify and resolve project-related issues.
  • Demonstrate leadership and professionalism throughout all interactions.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Extensive experience with multiple EBS implementations and upgrade projects.
  • Prior experience in managed services support.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels, including management.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Commitment to a strong work ethic and the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet established deadlines.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in eBusiness Suite software development across various versions.
  • Proficient in both functional SDLC tasks and technical development using PL/SQL and Java.
  • Ability to perform SQL data fixes, including complex queries and data manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience with XML Publisher and Oracle Reports.
  • Familiarity with modules such as Financials, Procurement, Logistics, and Human Resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective solutions.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage application menus and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong documentation skills for training and operational procedures.
  • Understanding of scalable application design principles.
  • Experience with reporting applications like OBIEE and OAC is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with EBS Security is a plus.
