Business Systems Consultant

Overview:

The Business Systems Consultant plays a pivotal role in shaping effective business solutions by collaborating with Business Partners and Systems Engineers. Through the development of detailed technical specifications, this position articulates strategies to achieve organizational objectives. Acting as a bridge between vendors, technical teams, and Business Partners, the Consultant will also be responsible for configuring code within our Claims Pro system.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement

  • Establish and nurture relationships with client personnel to promote positive interactions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen client connections.

Effective Communication

  • Conduct timely evaluations of project progress.
  • Prepare and communicate technical specifications to the development team.
  • Create presentations in a standardized format and lead discussions with both business and technical audiences.
  • Maintain adherence to project timelines, keeping the Project Manager informed of status, challenges, and advancements; participate in project status and team meetings.
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills to foster rapport, generate enthusiasm, prioritize tasks, and resolve conflicts among various stakeholders.
  • Deliver professional written and verbal communications in a clear and concise manner during formal settings.
  • Handle sensitive information with tact and professionalism.

Leadership and Project Oversight

  • Support the enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.

Development Tasks

  • Implement and configure changes within the Sapiens' Core Suite.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct thorough unit testing for all configurations and developments.
  • Engage in the System Testing process alongside the QA team.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing activities.
  • Document test cases for long-term regression testing purposes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in the property and casualty insurance sector is preferred, particularly in claims.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a role related to Systems Analysis or Business Analysis.
  • A BA/BS degree is required, preferably in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Project).

Organizational and Analytical Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Quickly grasp the business challenges and data issues within the client's organization and industry.
  • Analytical mindset capable of making informed decisions swiftly while managing various work streams.
  • Ability to analyze reported issues to identify root causes.

Service and Support Commitment

  • Consistently provide high-quality services to clients.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of software development principles.
  • Offer support to Product, Underwriting, Claims, and Finance teams, often outside of regular business hours.
  • Provide on-call support for systems or applications as assigned.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Property Casualty Insurance.
  • Understanding of Policy and Billing Processing.
  • Experience with vendor tools utilized for product development.
