As a Technical Lead at Rolls-Royce, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the development of advanced technologies for the LibertyWorks Advanced Development Program. This is a technical leadership role that requires strong engineering expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging and agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Chief Engineer in ensuring divisional compliance with group Product Safety and Health, Safety and Environment policies and processes.
- Be a key technical interface between ET&S, Program Management, and other supporting functions, working with the Whole Engine Design team to translate customer technical requirements into ET&S technical work packages.
- Provide leadership and management of a cross-functional team accountable for the successful delivery of technical/program requirements, definition of risk, project budget, and schedule.
- Work with the Chief Engineer and Whole Engine Design team to proactively identify required engineering skills development pipeline and divisional ET&S capacity, influencing group ET&S allocation priority, and sustaining Divisional ET&S engineering capability and product knowledge.
- Ensure approved load is robustly integrated into the overarching Program Integrated Master Schedule and perform required engineering program management to ensure right-first-time, on-time delivery to the customer.
- Manage technical work scope for development activities, including delivery of a robust verification, certification, and qualification strategy.
- Effectively line-manage the team in accordance with divisional and group policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 3+ years of experience, or JD/PhD.
- Up-to-date, relevant engineering expertise in the relevant functional area/discipline.
- Demonstrated experience successfully delivering engineering technical projects/tasks to time, cost, and quality, and leadership of teams to do the same.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship.
- Project/Function Management Engineering Experience.
- Experience of collaboration with diverse teams.
- Experience in USG development programs, stakeholder, and change management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment, willingness to accept responsibility, and take initiative, and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule.
- An excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communications.
