Job Summary:
This role involves overseeing research coordination for designated oncology trials. Responsibilities encompass familiarizing oneself with study protocols, evaluating patient charts, and identifying potential study participants. Duties may include conducting study procedures such as blood draws, preparing specimens for analysis, interpreting lab results, collecting and inputting study data, and maintaining essential documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Trials Management: Review and understand study protocols, disease categories, and investigational drug details. Collaborate with various departments involved in the study, ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements and institutional policies.
- Patient Health Oversight: Assess and monitor patients' health status, reporting significant findings to the Principal Investigator. Coordinate follow-up procedures for any adverse events.
- Study Execution: Schedule patient appointments, laboratory tests, and procedures. Administer investigational drugs as per protocol and assist in physical examinations while adhering to Good Clinical Practices.
- Subject Recruitment: Understand inclusion/exclusion criteria and develop recruitment strategies. Act as a liaison between referral sources and the Principal Investigator, ensuring informed consent is obtained.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain regulatory documents as required by FDA and sponsors. Ensure accurate completion of source documents and collaborate with data coordinators for timely data entry.
- Additional Duties: Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field with at least one year of applicable experience, or a Master's degree with five years of progressive experience in grant management and quality assurance, or a Bachelor's degree with eight years of relevant experience.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management are essential. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively.
