Senior Research Scientist, Georgia Cancer Center

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Scientist to join our team at the Georgia Cancer Center. The successful candidate will have a deep background in immunology and experience in CAR-T cell therapy research. The position will involve designing, developing, and optimizing CAR-T cell candidates using various in vitro and in vivo assays. The candidate will work closely with our cross-functional teams to advance our lead CAR-T candidates to clinical application.
Responsibilities- Plan, execute, and analyze experiments to support the preclinical development of novel T cell therapy products.
- Perform genome editing and culturing human pluripotent stem cells in various conditions.
- Design and execute flow cytometry experiments for CAR T cell product characterization.
- Support engineered T cell production activities, including gene editing, T cell culture, cryopreservation, and cell thawing.
- Coordinate tasks across multiple projects and teams, demonstrating prioritization and planning.
- PhD or equivalent in Cell or Molecular Biology/Biological Sciences with 10 or more years of research experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with molecular biology, cloning, mammalian cell culture, and transfection.
- Experience with multi-color flow cytometry, panel design, and data analysis.
- Willingness to accept responsibilities outside of the initial job description.
- Experience with human CAR T cell engineering.
- Experience using viral and/or non-viral gene delivery methods.
- Experience with immunological assays, such as cytokine/chemokine analysis and cytotoxicity assays.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools such as FlowJo and GraphPad Prism.
