Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee comprehensive ocean import operations, ensuring adherence to US Customs regulations and internal procedures.
  • Leverage CargoWise One for shipment processing, milestone updates, and precise documentation generation.
  • Collaborate with origin offices, shipping lines, and customs brokers to enhance shipment routing and reduce transit durations.
  • Execute pre-alert and pre-clearance tasks to facilitate swift customs clearance.
  • Track and address exceptions, including cargo delays, demurrage/detention concerns, and customs holds.
  • Provide shipment visibility reports and proactively communicate updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work alongside the pricing team to guarantee accurate quotes and invoicing for additional charges.
  • Support the implementation of process enhancements to boost operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in ocean import operations, ideally within a global freight forwarding context.
  • Proficient in CargoWise One or comparable freight management software.
  • Thorough understanding of Incoterms, HTS classifications, and US Customs regulations.
  • Strong grasp of container types, vessel schedules, and port operations.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, capable of effectively engaging with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven history of achieving key performance indicators and service level agreements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
