Role Responsibilities
The individual in this role will:
  • Provide comprehensive reference and research assistance to students, faculty, and community members.
  • Conduct user education sessions, including the design and implementation of information literacy initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee the library's electronic systems and research resources, ensuring effective troubleshooting and vendor liaison.
  • Select and curate both online and print materials for the library, including the removal of outdated resources.
  • Facilitate research seminars across various academic disciplines.
  • Develop instructional materials and conduct training workshops for faculty and students.
  • Supervise the organization and preservation of library collections, including archival materials.
  • Maintain the digital catalog of archival collections and assist users in accessing these resources.
  • Evaluate and recommend online database subscriptions to enhance research capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the library director to ensure equitable access to resources for all students.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS) from an accredited institution.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with various database systems.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements
This position involves primarily sedentary work, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
