Job Title: Phlebotomy Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Bayone. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing them for lab testing. You will work closely with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood samples from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collection.
- Prepare blood samples for lab testing, including labeling and packaging.
- Work closely with patients to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
- Explain procedures to patients and answer questions in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient information.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Working Conditions: This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to maintain a safe and professional atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal on-site supervision and will be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
