About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Event Operations Supervisor to join our team at Oak View Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of events and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of event operations staff, including event supervisors and utility workers.
  • Oversee the general cleaning and maintenance of the venue and campus, ensuring that all areas are clean and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate the set-up and breakdown of meeting spaces, including the installation and removal of equipment and furniture.
  • Assist with the inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other materials, ensuring that all necessary items are available for events.
  • Prepare daily work task sheets and ensure that they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support payroll by reviewing hourly employee and temp labor invoices to ensure that billable hours are identified and recorded correctly.
  • Create bi-weekly staffing schedules and review the 30-day event calendar to ensure that adequate staffing is in place for upcoming events.
  • Anticipate and resolve operational problems and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify housekeeping needs within the venue and campus, assign tasks, and ensure that they are completed.
  • Assist in coordinating operations activities with other building departments and show-related personnel.
  • Assist with the training of staff in event operations procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure that the operations department receives pertinent information for the effective use of the facility.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments and staff.
  • Organize department documents, including staffing, write-ups, billable invoices, inventory, floor plans, and event resumes.
  • Work in conjunction with security staff to ensure comprehensive energy conservation and security programs are adhered to.
  • Assist with the implementation of venue and campus rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Assist in the development of safety and emergency procedures for the venue and campus.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education; some college coursework desired.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supervising or managing a public assembly venue and campus.
  • Strong working knowledge of venue and campus housekeeping standards and practices, as well as public assembly venue and campus set-up requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain the venue and campus as a first-class facility.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with all employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and understand all service contracts pertaining to the venue and campus.
  • Ability to supervise all levels of service personnel effectively.
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work habits.
