Role Overview:
As a Staff Accountant at Cirkul, you will play a crucial role, reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, and will have the opportunity to impact a vital growth area within the organization. You will collaborate with a skilled team and be responsible for driving continuous improvement within our operations. A strong motivation, enthusiasm for accounting and financial reporting, and a readiness to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting are essential for this position. This role demands excellent communication skills, a solid work ethic, and strong organizational abilities. You should be capable of working independently with minimal oversight as well as collaboratively with team members, across the Finance department, and with various business partners.
Typical Responsibilities:
  • Delivering Results: Execute month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Taking Initiative: Conduct monthly variance analysis on the balance sheet and income statement. Effectively communicate findings to management and address issues promptly. Support the interim and annual audit processes. Understand the objectives of your role and the department's contribution to the company.
  • Decision Making: Identify and implement process enhancements, including the development of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards to optimize departmental workflow and strengthen internal controls.
  • Building Relationships: Collaborate with fellow staff accountants to provide assistance during their absence.
  • Establishing Trust: Work alongside the Accounting Supervisor to prepare timely and accurate financial reports for the Sr Manager, Accounting. Identify efficiencies to improve month-end closing processes.
  • Client Focus: Address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and auditors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in Accounting is required.
  • CPA candidacy is advantageous.
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus.
  • Background in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Excel (including vlookup, pivot tables, etc.) is essential.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive interactions with others.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Outstanding analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
