The Senior Payroll Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing various financial, compliance, and accounting responsibilities. This position requires the ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal teams and to excel in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and document entries in the general ledger.
- Enhance and maintain reporting capabilities within diverse accounting and payroll systems.
- Manage the time allocation system and scrutinize data for precision and thoroughness.
- Collaborate closely with the human resources department to identify and report data discrepancies.
- Generate monthly accruals and perform account reconciliations.
- Uphold superior quality control standards, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of reports while pinpointing areas for data quality enhancement.
- Assist during annual audits.
- Support the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance programs and policies.
- Undertake special projects, compile ad hoc reports, and provide additional services as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
- Relevant years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in various software applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in payroll processing is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Yardi and/or Workday is a plus.
- Background in residential real estate or property management is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
