Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Senior Tax Specialist focusing on Sales and Use Tax for our expanding technology firm. This pivotal role within our finance department will manage all facets of sales and use tax, encompassing compliance, reporting, planning, and audits. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of tax regulations and will ensure our organization complies with all applicable tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of sales and use tax, including compliance, reporting, planning, and audits.
  • Prepare and submit all sales and use tax returns, ensuring precision and punctuality.
  • Research tax laws and regulations to guarantee compliance and uncover potential tax savings.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to devise and implement tax strategies that align with the company's financial objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including tax provision calculations.
  • Coordinate and oversee audits conducted by tax authorities.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff on sales and use tax issues.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, communicating updates to relevant teams.
  • Support special projects as required.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a tax accounting role, specifically in sales and use tax.
  • Proficient in Sage or similar accounting software.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales tax and use tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in the technology sector is advantageous.
