Bartender Job Description

**Job Summary**

The Cordish Companies is seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at Power Plant Live. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, mixing and serving drinks, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Provide Excellent Customer Service**: Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, take drink orders, and serve beverages in a timely and efficient manner.
  • **Mix and Serve Drinks**: Prepare and serve a variety of cocktails, beers, and wines, adhering to company recipes and standards.
  • **Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment**: Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas, and maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • **Manage Cash and Credit Transactions**: Process cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently, and maintain a high level of cash handling integrity.
  • **Work Effectively in a Fast-Paced Environment**: Work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • **1-2 Years of Bartending Experience**: At least 1-2 years of experience as a bartender in a high-volume bar or nightclub setting.
  • **Knowledge of Liquor Brands and Beer**: Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, and non-alcoholic beverages, including preparation methods and garnishments.
  • **Formal Bartending Training**: Formal bartending training or certification preferred.
  • **Communication Skills**: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • **Mathematical Skills**: Basic math skills, including the ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately.

Physical Demands:**

  • **Lifting and Carrying**: Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including barware, boxes, and bottles.
  • **Standing and Moving**: Ability to stand and move about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely.
  • **Bending and Stooping**: Ability to bend and stoop to reach and retrieve items from low shelves and storage areas.

Working Conditions:**

  • **Night and Weekend Shifts**: Ability to work night and weekend shifts, including holidays and special events.
