Position Overview:

As a pivotal player in this innovative landscape, we recognize the critical importance of security in our operations. The role of a Senior Security Engineer is essential in safeguarding our advanced research and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement security measures aligned with NIST standards to protect our systems and data.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Python, Rust, or Golang to create tools for data collection and analysis, enhancing our security alerting and evidence gathering processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure software development practices are integrated into our agile workflows.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and operational memos.
  • Automate security processes and integrations using tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Contribute to the security hardening of both cloud-based and on-premise systems.
  • Enhance application security by working closely with development teams to address findings from security assessments.
  • Support incident response efforts and contribute to the development of secure operational processes.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in security engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with security frameworks such as NIST and CIS Benchmarks.
  • Strong technical background in systems administration, software engineering, or digital forensics.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience leading security initiatives and conducting audits.
  • Familiarity with application security tools and incident response coordination.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code practices and configuration management systems.
