Job Summary:

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician/advanced practice provider. You will utilize your observational skills to identify nursing interventions and assist medical staff in ensuring optimal care within established policies, procedures, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide therapeutic patient care in accordance with established protocols and within the scope of practice.
  • Transcribe physician/advanced practice provider orders and administer medications accurately and safely.
  • Assist with and contribute to the development of a nursing care plan, communicating directly with a Registered Nurse as needed.
  • Perform various patient care functions, including taking vital signs, wound care, and instructing patients in self-administered treatments.
  • Assist physician/advanced practice providers or other medical staff personnel with examinations and treatments, selecting and passing instruments as directed.
  • Observe and document patients' conditions, identifying unexpected and/or significant findings, and reporting them to the Registered Nurse or physician/advanced practice provider as established by policy and procedure.
  • Ensure cleanliness of nursing modules/stations, patient exam rooms, and proper functioning of patient care equipment.
  • Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, utilizing effective verbal and non-verbal communication.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 months or greater LVN direct patient care experience within the last three years.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Vocational Nurse License (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Level II required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IV Certification and Blood Withdrawal Certification.
