Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Alta Vista Healthcare & Wellness Centre. As an LVN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care as prescribed by physician/health care professional in accordance with the legal scope of practice, any Board of Licensing restrictions, and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Administer professional services and provide care consistent with allowing residents to attain or maintain his or her highest practicable physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Conduct daily resident rounds to observe the resident's physical and emotional status.
  • Collect clinical data and reports significant clinical findings according to policy.
  • Perform manual and technical skills according to the scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Record care information accurately, timely and concisely.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, revising, and updating resident Plans of Care as indicated.
  • Participate in the facility's infection control program for monitoring communicable and/or infectious disease among residents and staff.
  • Participate in procedures for reporting hazardous conditions or equipment.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved LVN program.
  • Current nursing licensure in good standing with the State licensing board.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide quality patient care in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to identify and report problems, use initiative and good judgment to reach quality decisions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable nursing principles and practices to ensure the quality of care standards for residents are.
  • Valid CPR certification.
