Job Summary:The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for delivering and coordinating quality patient care in compliance with physician orders. This includes observing and assessing patient condition, documenting all activities and care, and participating in the development and implementation of the nursing care plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
- Observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to the supervisor and/or physician as necessary.
- Document all activities, assessments, and care in a timely manner.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the nursing care plan.
- Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieve expected outcomes.
- Recognize changes in patient needs and responses, implementing care to prevent risk or reduce risk.
- Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability, complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Provide care utilizing infection control measures that protect both staff and patients according to OSHA standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of competencies related to the nursing profession through participation in educational programs and continued education units.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- One year of experience required working under current nursing license (California only).
- Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting.
- Home health experience.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Must be able to travel.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
