Data Analyst/Informatics Internship Role

DC Primary Care Association (DCPCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of DC's vulnerable residents by ensuring access to high-quality primary care.

The hourly range for this position is between $22 and $25 dollars. As an intern, you will support the HIT team by performing a variety of technical and administrative duties, assisting with data reporting and visualization, database design, analytics, and other responsibilities as needed.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects such as designing and creating data visualizations using platforms like Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau, managing relational database design and schema creation to support health center operations, analyzing datasets using SQL and other statistical tools to identify trends and insights, developing and implementing strategies to improve data extraction, quality, and efficiency, and supporting DCPCA's HIT team with reporting on performance indicators and data-driven decision-making processes.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Currently enrolled master's or post-bachelors degree candidate in a program related to public health, health informatics, information systems, computer science, or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Experience with statistical packages for data analysis (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in interpreting and presenting data.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of tasks.
