Job Overview

The position of Data Governance Strategist at Pantheon Data offers a unique opportunity to drive data governance excellence and shape the future of HR IT infrastructure for the US Navy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define data governance requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and implement data stewardship policies for master data elements.
  • Work closely with data strategy areas, including Data Architecture, Data Integration, and Business Intelligence teams.
  • Advise the Data Architecture team on data management strategy to ensure alignment with data governance objectives.
  • Assist teams in developing strategies to incorporate compliance with data governance policies into requirements and test cases.
  • Conduct data governance reviews and assessments to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Identify risks to data quality, consistency, and accuracy created by current business processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with the Business Process Reengineering team to ensure redesigned processes satisfy data governance objectives.
  • Identify self-service tools to enable data stewards to manage data quality and governance policies independently.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and other IT teams to ensure data governance strategy aligns with security and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance, consultation, subject matter expertise, and related support to data stewards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Governance Specialist or similar role, with a minimum of 8 years of experience defining and implementing data governance policies and strategies.
  • Strong expertise in data governance principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000, based on experience, location, and contractual requirements. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, including SmartBenefits through the Washington Metro Area Transportation Authority, tuition assistance for continuing education expenses, and certifications related to the position.
