Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer I will oversee the daily operations of quality technicians, ensuring that product quality meets all relevant standards and customer specifications. This role involves collaborating with management to devise engineering solutions for quality-related challenges and implementing quality control protocols at the manufacturing level. The ideal candidate will contribute to quality enhancements that align with our philosophy of continuous improvement and Southwire's commitment to a 'Culture of Zero'.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the activities of quality technicians, establishing daily tasks and monitoring project progress.
• Ensure adherence to ISO, UL, CSA, and other industry standards as well as specific customer requirements.
• Implement and manage the Quality Management System, including Corrective Action Systems, Document Control, and Training.
• Lead initiatives for quality improvement utilizing problem-solving methodologies to address quality issues and achieve consistent process outcomes.
• Support the development of projects focused on error-proofing and continuous improvement.
• Analyze production and defect data to conduct various quality studies.
• Assist in training personnel on defect root cause analysis.
• Utilize various software platforms, including SAP and Advaris, for quality management.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
• Provide direct support to manufacturing teams in addressing quality challenges.
• Engage in the development of manufacturing processes that ensure product quality through research and statistical analysis.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Physical Sciences.
• Certification: ASQ CQE or the ability to obtain it within two years.
• Experience: 3-7 years in quality assurance, demonstrating initiative, attention to detail, technical problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ISO 9001:2015 training is required; experience with SAP, UL, CSA, and Lean methodologies is advantageous.
