The Process Engineer will play a crucial role in minimizing manufacturing expenses while enhancing productivity through established engineering methodologies under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.

This position involves the implementation and management of optimized manufacturing workflows to guarantee consistent productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify the necessary operations for product fabrication and develop processes that meet quality, cost, and efficiency standards.
2. Evaluate production workflows, procedures, tooling, and equipment to assess capacity for meeting performance requirements.
3. Design and implement LEAN work cells and material handling systems.
4. Actively engage in Kaizen initiatives to foster continuous improvement.
5. Drive process enhancements that yield tangible cost savings.
6. Provide specialized knowledge in machining, material handling, and process optimization.
7. Generate Requests for Engineering (RFE) with Return on Investment (ROI) assessments.
8. Collaborate on value stream mapping and utilization analysis.
9. Calculate Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and pursue improvements.
10. Partner with Quality Assurance to identify, resolve, and maintain root causes of issues.
11. Train operators on new processes or equipment in collaboration with Quality Assurance.
12. Experience in designing and developing fixtures and tooling to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
13. Design, maintain, and refine manufacturing processes to optimize quality and efficiency while minimizing costs.
14. Review, compute, and manage material and labor costs for Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing.
15. Familiarity with AS400 and Infor systems.
16. Analyze and plan efficient production workflows utilizing best practices and engineered time standards.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or 8 years of relevant engineering experience in process or manufacturing without a degree.
2. Experience in manufacturing, particularly in metal fabrication or machining environments.
3. Proven ability to analyze Takt times for enhanced efficiency and utilization.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude (hands-on mechanical knowledge).
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Demonstrated experience with LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.
7. CNC experience is advantageous.
8. Familiarity with PLC programming is a plus.
9. Proficient in SolidWorks.
10. Ability to design and develop fixtures and tooling for manufacturing efficiency.
11. Capability to lift up to 40 pounds.
12. Requires periods of sedentary work, daily standing, and walking on the shop floor.
13. Involves repetitive upper body movements - keyboard and monitor use.
14. Visual and auditory acuity is necessary.
