Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer I will oversee the daily operations of quality technicians, ensuring product quality aligns with all relevant UL, CSA, and customer-specific standards. This role involves collaborating with management to devise engineering solutions for quality-related challenges and implementing quality control protocols at the manufacturing level. The incumbent will focus on continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing product and service quality in line with Southwire's dedication to a 'Culture of Zero'.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and direct the activities of quality technicians, establishing daily tasks and monitoring project progress.
• Ensure adherence to ISO, UL, CSA, and other industry standards, along with special customer requirements.
• Implement and manage the Quality Management System, including Corrective Action Systems, Document Control, and Training.
• Lead quality enhancement initiatives utilizing problem-solving methodologies to address quality issues and ensure consistent process outcomes.
• Contribute to projects aimed at error-proofing processes and fostering continuous improvement.
• Analyze production and defect data to conduct various quality studies.
• Facilitate training and development for personnel on defect root cause analysis.
• Utilize various software platforms such as SAP and Advaris for quality management.
• Develop Quality Test Plans and collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
• Provide practical support to manufacturing teams in addressing quality challenges.
• Assist in formulating manufacturing processes that guarantee product quality through research and statistical analysis.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Physical Sciences.
• Certification: ASQ CQE or the ability to obtain ASQ CQE within two years.
• Experience: 3-7 years in quality assurance, demonstrating initiative, attention to detail, technical problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ISO 9001:2015 training is required, with SAP, UL, CSA, and Lean experience considered advantageous.
