About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mohs Tissue Technician to join our dynamic team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our dermatology laboratory, you will play a crucial role in the identification and analysis of skin cancer cells, working closely with our dermatology director and Mohs surgeon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and stain tissue samples for microscopic examination
  • Embed and cut tissue samples for histological analysis
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes and staining stations
  • Follow strict protocols for specimen handling and storage
  • Collaborate with faculty, residents, and clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely results
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of laboratory procedures and results
Requirements
  • Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science or equivalent experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • At least 6 months of experience as a Mohs Tissue Technician
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of CLIA laboratory protocol and laboratory safety standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active membership to the American Society of Mohs Histotechnology and National Society of Histotechnology
  • Mohs Technician Certificate
