Position Overview:

The Healthcare Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating patient registration for medical services. This position requires a deep understanding of complex healthcare systems to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and complete information collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute access registration tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • Surpass productivity benchmarks established by the department.
  • Complete patient registration by verifying health plan coverage.
  • Document patient demographics and health plan details accurately.
  • Support insurance verification and authorization processes.
  • Engage with physician offices and payers for eligibility and authorization follow-ups.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and accuracy in all interactions.
  • Work independently, making informed decisions to optimize workflow.
  • Conduct timely follow-ups on assigned accounts to prevent revenue loss.
  • Serve as a resource for team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Document all actions taken for account resolution in the patient accounting system.

Compliance and Education:

  • Adhere to all federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and attempts made regarding accounts.
  • Engage in ongoing training to stay updated on industry standards and regulations.
  • Integrate new knowledge into daily operations promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in a medical or physician office setting.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Experience with EPIC systems is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in clinic or hospital registration.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and communication standards.
  • Familiarity with various insurance payers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service.
