As a Lead Seabee Technical Trainer - Construction Module Instructor, you will not only deliver top-tier construction training but also shape the future of Seabee operations through strategic leadership, innovative research, and collaboration with key stakeholders. In this role, you will mentor a team of instructors while managing operational elements of the training program, all while contributing to the advancement of construction methods and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Seabee Technical Trainers, overseeing the delivery of instruction across 26 approved construction modules.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the NCG Training Department Leadership, ensuring alignment between training programs and strategic goals.
  • Provide bi-monthly metrics and utilization reports, highlighting the effectiveness and efficiency of training operations.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging construction methods, materials, and technologies that could enhance Seabee capabilities.
  • Recommend updates and revisions to government construction guides based on research findings and field observations.
  • Participate in and observe DoD experimental construction exercises, integrating innovative practices into training programs.
  • Manage all aspects of field construction supervision, including scheduling, material handling, tool and equipment coordination, and facility oversight.
  • Mentor and guide other instructors, offering technical expertise and leadership to ensure high-quality training outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Seabee-related occupational field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role or as a construction instructor.
  • Proven experience in delivering technical training and managing training programs, with a focus on construction-related vocations.
  • Certification: CWE certification required within the first year of employment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NAVEDTRA manuals, Navy OF-07 structure, and industry construction standards.
  • Strong skills in construction management principles, math, and resource management.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and experience in the open purchase ordering process.
  • Familiarity with automated office systems and visual information tools.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, with experience mentoring and developing others.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and report on training metrics and performance data.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with senior leadership and diverse teams.
  • Advanced project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to stay current with new technologies and construction methods, and integrate these advancements into training programs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • U.S. Citizenship (proof required).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; advanced training or certification preferred.
  • Current CPR qualification or willingness to obtain.
  • Favorable NACLC (National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Checks) investigation results.
  • Ability to travel for field training and observation of DoD experimental exercises.
