Job Summary

At Monroe Environmental, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Checker to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our mechanical drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and Check Drawings: Thoroughly review mechanical drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.
  • Detailing: Provide detailed drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, materials, and other relevant specifications, ensuring they meet the design intent and are ready for manufacturing.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies, clarify details, and ensure that the drawings meet all technical and quality requirements.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO), company policies, and client-specific requirements.
  • Document Control: Maintain accurate records of revisions, changes, and updates to mechanical drawings, ensuring proper documentation and version control.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and adhere to quality assurance processes to ensure that all drawings are free of errors and suitable for manufacturing.
  • Mentorship and Continuous Improvement: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior detailers and drafters, sharing best practices and ensuring consistency in the drawing process, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the drawing and checking process.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field, and minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical drafting, detailing, and drawing checking in manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo), strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and materials, and familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5, GD&T).
  • Attention to Detail and Problem-Solving: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality, and ability to identify and resolve issues in drawings and specifications.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely, and ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
