Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Process & Product Development Engineer with expertise in polymer processing and fiber technologies to support end-to-end new Tensylon product development. This role will involve operating trial batches on the R&D Pilot line, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and collaborating with customers, product management, and global applications development teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and communicate daily test plans for experiments run on the Semi-Works
  • Ensure experimental results are routinely and properly recorded
  • Work effectively with technicians and mechanics
  • Prepare technical reports, data summaries, protocols, and other technical and regulatory documents as needed
  • Develop an understanding of the relationships between process parameters and product properties
  • Apply knowledge of the Line of Business (LOB) technology to define and implement solutions for PSM, Grow and Improve projects
  • Lead or participate in front-end loading of capital projects
  • Lead or participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs) for existing or new processes
  • First contact for advanced troubleshooting for Operations
  • Provide required engineering support for Root Cause Investigations (RCIs)
  • Lead or support raw material qualification or trials for new products
  • Validate technical solutions and document results to drive toward a standardized Process Technology
  • Provide technical input for Management of Change
  • Lead or participate in Project Reviews
  • Collaborate across MT, Operations, EH&S, R&D, Contract Management, etc.
Qualification Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline required (Mechanical preferred)
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or related experience required (Preferred in a chemical process environment)
  • Prior experience in applications development or R&D preferred
  • Effective communication/interpersonal skills
