Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our team at Georgetown University. The successful candidate will provide exceptional care and support to our student-athletes, ensuring their optimal health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide initial injury and illness evaluations, referrals, and follow-up evaluations to student-athletes
  • Manage injury rehabilitation, taping and bracing, and over-the-counter medications
  • Perform injury rehabilitation and reconditioning, including therapeutic exercise and re-education of joint kinesthesia and proprioception
  • Serve as an athletic trainer for sports as assigned, effectively carrying out all necessary athletic training duties
  • Present at home and away competitions and practices when needed
  • Perform additional administrative duties, including managing inventory and purchasing, coordinating processing of student-athlete health insurance claims, and organizing student-athlete physicals
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Current NATABOC certification with the criteria for certification as established by the NATA
  • Meets criteria for District of Columbia Athletic Training Licensure
  • Ability to work confidently in a crisis or emergency situation and demonstrate knowledge of safety practices
  • Knowledge of University and Department philosophies, policies, and regulations
  • Strong organizational skills with knowledge of NCAA regulations
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
  • Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record; must be insurable with availability weekends and evenings
  • Proficient in computer use and relevant Microsoft applications
  • Background check completed as a condition of employment with Georgetown University
Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as On-Campus. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation, is $41,090.00 to $65,090.00.

Compensation is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
